Museum Members: Join the Team

Participation in the following committees and volunteer teams is open to The Musem at Lassen’s Resort members in good standing with dues paid. Training is available. Begin the application process by completing the Volunteer Inquiry Form and then contact us to schedule your interview.

Building & Restoration Team | Recommends policies for the maintenance, repair, and occupancy of the physical facilities, executes restoration projects, conducts regular building inspections, and addresses emergency needs. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of March, June, September, and December at 6:30 pm in the Museum Member’s Lounge. If you have time and talent in the areas of maintenance systems, preservation, restoration, or carpentry, this might be a great fit for you.

Collections Care Team | Oversees the proper maintenance and care of the Association’s collection and is responsible for accessioning items to and deaccessioning items from the collection under the direction of the Historian/Curator. Meets on the 1st Tuesday of March, May-September, and November at 6:30 pm in the Museum Member’s Lounge. If you have time and talent in the areas of archival storage, preservation, exhibit design, displays, or artifact care, we need you.

Events Team | Plans the programs, books vendors, secures free admission day sponsors, distributes publicity materials, and sets volunteer needs for events. Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Museum Member’s Lounge. If you have time and talent in the areas of marketing, PR, communications, writing press releases, social media, event planning, or related areas, please share your expertise.

Finance Commitee | Responsible for financial oversight of the organization in the areas of budgeting, financial planning and reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of February, May, August, and November at 6:30 pm onsite or virtually. If you have time and talent in the areas of fundraising, accounting, budgeting, finance, economic development, or strategic planning, please contact us for more details.

Guest Services Team | Manages the training and activities of docents, gift shop, and front desk (including technology), books tour groups, sells memberships, and schedules volunteers. Meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month March-September at 6:30 pm in the Museum Member’s Lounge. If you have time and talent in the areas of staffing, time management, inventory control, volunteer recruitment, marketing, customer service, or related areas, please share your expertise.

Transportation Team | Oversees the maintenance and care of the Taylor Ice truck and Baby Dewey electric boat and ensures an adequate and qualified crew is equipped to operate the vehicle and vessel. Meets QUARTERLY on the 3rd Tuesday of January, April, July, and October at 6:30 pm in person or virtually. If you have time and talent in the areas of automotive repair, nautical or electrical systems, please join us!
